I developed 2 main lines of research:
- reading acquisition (in typical children, children with dyslexia, children with language disorders, in bilingual children, in children from Low income) with a specific focus -not exclusively- on morphological processing and, more recently, on word learning
- second language learning and bilingualism: especially L2 word learning and word recognition in L2
My current projects are focused on
- Learning to read in multilingual contexts (see the TANMALL project : predictor of reading achievement in migrant children, with Matthieu Bignon and Sandrine Mejias see the website https://tanmall.univ-lille.fr/ ; and the Libanon project with Zalfa Chamoun and Pauline Quémart : cross language effects in reading acquisition in bilingual children)
- mechanisms of L2 word learning and development of the L2 written lexicon in a school context (with Camille Cornut, Florian Salomé, Gwendoline Mahé, Eva Commissaire)
- morphological awareness in relation to vocabulary acquisition in several contexts (L2 learning : Amelie Menut with Marc Brysbaert, Low SES children : ALicia Rassel)
the APPREL2 PRC ANR project website :

- morphological processing in L2 (with Amelie Menut and Marc Brysbaert)
En 2019.... Excellent souvenir: mes trois doctorants, Camille Cornut Alicia Rassel et Florian Salomé montent une mini comédie musicale présentée au Cabaret des sciences sur la galère de la thèse (en école)
