Teaching
Teaching and research training
My teaching connects the fundamentals of chemistry with catalysis, biomass conversion and biorefineries. It draws on my research and on teaching experience in France and Japan.
University of Lille
I teach undergraduate chemistry, including thermodynamics, kinetics and the chemistry of the elements, and contribute to the Biorefinery track of the Chemistry Master’s programme, covering catalysis and biomass resources. Teaching combines lectures, tutorials and laboratory work.
Research training
I supervise and co-supervise Master’s projects, doctoral theses and postdoctoral research in catalysis and sustainable chemistry. My coordination of the European PEARL programme (2019–2025), supporting thirty early-stage researchers, and my role as French lead of the DEMO doctoral network (2023–2027) extend this commitment to international research training.
International teaching
At Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT), I taught physicochemical characterisation methods and fuel processing in Japanese from 2001 to 2005. I also taught during my stay as visiting professor from 25 July to 19 August 2025.
On 18–19 May 2026, I delivered the intensive course An Overview of Biorefineries at the University of Tokyo: six sessions totalling 10.5 hours, covering biorefineries and heterogeneous catalysis for biomass conversion. The invitation also included a lecture on catalytic innovations shaping the future of biorefineries.
Invited teaching on biorefineries is scheduled for 30 September and 1 October 2026 at the Engineering School in Bilbao (EHU) and at BCMaterials in Leioa, totalling five hours including questions.
Japanese language and Franco-Japanese cooperation
Since 2025, I have also contributed to Japanese studies programmes at the University of Lille, addressing the linguistic and intercultural dimensions of scientific cooperation between France and Japan.
