Laurentiu Hetel is a Senior Researcher at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS). He works with CRIStAL (UMR CNRS 9189), Lille, France. He received the PhD Degree in Automatic Control from the Institut National Polytechnique de Lorraine, Nancy University, France, in 2007. He was a postoctoral fellow at the Eindhoven University of Technology (April to October 2008). In the past, he has headed the group "Control and Scientific Computing" (approx. 55 people) of CRIStAL (2018-2024). From 2015 to 2023 he was a member of the editorial board of the journal Systems and Control Letters. He also served as co-chair of the French national research group on hybrid systems (2014 – 2022, GT SDH of GDR MACS/SAGIP). He conducts research in the area of Control Systems. His main research interests are in Hybrid Dynamical Systems and Sampled-data Control. He is currently an Associate Editor for Automatica and he is in charge of the Research Axis "Robotics and Cyber-physical Systems" of CRIStAL.
