The building SUP-SUAIO
is easy to recognize since it is one of the few red brick buildings on
the campus.
By clicking on the logo on the right you see that the building is just
in front of the main buildings (M2, M3) of the department of Mathematics
(and of hotel Ascotel).
On these pages [ in french | in
english ] you can find a detailed description how to join the
building M2 of the department of Mathematics. By the way, the offices
of most of the Lille collegues members of the maths research institute Laboratoire Paul Painlevé
can be found in these buildings M2 and M3, and the maths library BIBMATH is situated in
building M2.

Location of the lecture hall
The lectures, the registration, and coffee breaks will take place in
the main floor of the building SUP-SUAIO. If you enter into the
building, you will see the registration desk which will be open
starting from Thursday June 22, 2006, at 8h a.m. (after 12h a.m. on
thursday, the registration desk might be situated directly in the
lecture hall). The lectures themselves are in the Amphi 13
Galilée not far from the registration desk. This is a modern
lecture hall equipped for presentations with computer and slides (and
possibly black bord).
Computer access: there will be the possibility of WIFI
connection in the main hall of the conference building. The necessary
key can be obtained from the organizers.

Short description how to find the
campus/building
If you are coming by car: please have first a look at the
more detailed description of the department of Mathematics [ in french | in
english ]. The campus is situated in the south of Villeneuve
d'Ascq, close to about 5 highways (towards Gent, Tournai/Brussels,
Valenciennes, Paris, Dunquerque). In order to get the right exit,
please click on the logo on the right. It is easiest probably to leave
your car on one of the larger parking spots at the "Avenue Paul
Langevin", and then walk a bit.
If you are coming by flight/train: please have first a
look at the more detailed description of the department of Mathematics
[ in french
| in
english ]. It is very easy to join the campus by metro (see the
metro map on the right). In downtown Lille (for instance at the metro
station at the railway station "Gare Lille Flandres") you take the
metro line 1 direction "4 Cantons", and get out at the station
"Cité Scientifique" (after about 15 minutes). You then follow
the metro line southwards by feet for about 200 meters, where you see
on your left a big round building (the central library BU). A bit later
you see on the right a big teaching building M1 for mathematics. Just
before you turn right into the "Avenue Carl Gauss". You then pass on
your left the building M3, and a bit later on the right you see the
conference building (and in front the hotel Ascotel).
Walking in downtown Lille: on the right you find a small
map of downtown Lille. If you arrive already on Wednesday, you will
have the chance to participate in the evening at the "fête
de la musique" in the streets of downtown Lille. This is a major
popular event everywhere in France, and especially in Lille: everybody
who wants is in the streets and playing some music instrument. Usually,
all styles of music can be found: starting from vocal ensembles, you
find Classics/Jazz/Soul/Rock/Punk and all inbetween. Also, usually the
nicest groups are playing in "Vieux Lille" which is a nicely renovated
neighborhood of Lille in the north of the map (around the streets "Rue
basse", "Rue de la monnaie", "Rue Esquemoise").
The conference dinner on thursday evening will probably take
place in downtown Lille at the "Boulevard J.B. Lebas" in the south
of the map, see this link for further
details.
